don't apologize for being yourself

Today I interviewed Trygve Olson. He is a force of nature—funny, edgy, strategic, and smart. He lights up any room he enters, truly the life of the party. I asked him where this came from, and he told me that he has always been this way. However, it wasn't until 2014, when he took a series of improv classes, that he learned the invaluable lesson to "don't apologize for yourself." It's simple to say but hard to do, yet he said it was a turning point for both his life and work. Mr. Rogers said:

"You are a very special person. There is only one like you in the whole world. There's never been anyone exactly like you before, and there will never be again. Only you. And people can like you exactly as you are.”
